arc therapies provide therapy in line with sensory integration to support dysregulation and teach clients, parents and carers how to integrate regulation as part of our self-care routines.
Our anxiety & stress levels are a direct result of daily challenges and triggers which we manage in varying degrees by masking, coping and restricting emotions. Often leading to unhealthy outcomes.
Sensory integration involves understanding what soothes and regulates our systems. In learning what our unique sensory profiles are through assessment and person-centered counselling we can identify triggers and regulators, and work towards healthy coping strategies.
We work creatively across all age ranges by integrating mediums that the client finds helpful such as sound, light, movement, art, music and sand play.
This approach is inclusive in reaching clients with varying needs and supports a neurodiverse affirming service. Particularly for Sensory Processing Modulation difficulties. Our counsellors have lived and professional experience with neurodiverse clients and clients with SEND.
Our counselling room has a large black out tent & soft corner and can accommodate children with parents and carers.
Please enquire regarding before and after school regulation sessions.

Mental health problems among young people are increasing rapidly, particularly in late adolescence where sociaecinomic factors increase vulnerability.
Self-harm, eating disorders, intrusive thoughts and suicide ideation are significant concerns at a time when access to timely & appropriate support is a major challenge, with long waiting lists and high thresholds for care. When early intevention is the key factor to positive outcomes where do we turn?
At arc we understand that costs for private sector counselling can be unreachable. We also understand the concern and hopelessness parents and careers feel when faced with constant barriers to find support for their young people.
arc therapies consider each client individually by offering a mix of all of our services to meet needs. Including concessions.
We feel the young persons sense of safety is the foundation to collaboratively achieving the best counselling experience and outcomes.
arc's qualified CYP counsellors, mentors & wellbeing practitioners are experienced, trained & hold relevant DBS certificates.

Single-session therapy (SST) is a structured, goal-oriented psychological approach designed to address a specific issue or crisis in a single, self-contained meeting. Rather than in-depth exploration, it focuses on identifying immediate solutions, developing practical coping strategies, and providing emotional relief. We are also considering a series of three 60 minute sessions therapy within the SST service to cater for clients who require more time to process each element ;
The Beginning: Setting specific goal or focus for the service
The Middle: Explore your current strengths, past attempts at solving the problem, and new actionable strategies.
The End: summarize takeaways, create a clear action plan, and map out next steps.

We are very lucky to work in the Chiltern Hills with a selection of stunning places to walk and talk. Walking can allow for a less pressured or structured counselling environment with the bonus of being in nature.
We will be adding gardening therapy to our services soon once our allotment has been de-wilded.
